Andrew has been working as a professional coach for over 10 years. His practice supports people adapt to personal or professional change and transition to the new normality. He also supports teams to create healthy and sustainable high performance.
He started his coaching practice as an internal job+coach at GlaxoSmithKline where he also had scientific and business unit leadership roles. His areas of experience cover small molecules, biological and oligonucleotide projects in a range of Therapy Areas. His scientific leadership covered early research and development for new medicines for migraine, pain, neuro-rehabilitation and Alzheimer’s Disease. He was part of the management team for the GSK/Shionogi JV (forerunner of Viiv Healthcare). As VP and Head Preclinical Drug Discovery in External Drug Discovery he played a leading role in creation of new business processes in working with a range of external partners. He has published over a 100-peer review scientific articles and book chapters in Science and Medical Education and is co-author of the how-to guide Leading with Presence, what is it, why it matters and how to get it.
He has been working independently as an External Coach since 2012 with a variety of organisations and charities. He is a certified Professional Medical Coach and played a key role in the development of the coaching service, empowering cancer patients and their families at the Fountain Centre, St Like’s Cancer Unit, Surrey. He has a graduate degree in Pharmacology, MSc in Psychology with an MSc and PhD focussed on treatments for brain injuries and migraine respectively. He is passionate about the application of science into the practice of coaching and development. He is a member of the Association for Business Psychology, the British Psychological Society, International Positive Psychology Association and a Fellow of the Institute of Coaching (Harvard, USA).
